Trevor Scott (tenor) is currently pursuing his Masters of Music in Vocal Performance under the direction of Professor Stanford Olsen at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance. He completed his undergraduate degree at the Eastman School of Music, where he studied under Professor Robert Swensen. He is excited to perform the role of Don Ottavio in UM Opera Theatre’s production of Don Giovanni in March 2023. He was recently selected as one of nine vocal fellows in the University of Michigan’s American Song Institute, where he studied for four days with renowned baritone Thomas Hampson. Last summer, he participated in the Taos Opera Institute in New Mexico, where he studied with Mary Jane Johnson, Linda Poetschke, and Stephen Morscheck, and sang several leading roles in their opera scenes. Other recent roles include the Schoolmaster/Mosquito in Cunning Little Vixen (UM Opera Theatre), Reverend John Rankin in Adolphus Hailstork’s Rise for Freedom (UMOT), The Lyric Tenor in Dominick Argento’s Postcard from Morocco (Eastman Opera Theatre), and Little Victor Farrel in Kevin Puts’ Elizabeth Cree (EOT). Trevor is from St. Louis, Missouri, and is an avid cyclist; last summer, he cycled from London to Paris!
