Salomé is one of the most unique works of the silent film era. An adaptation of an Oscar Wilde play, reimagines the story of the execution of John the Baptist. Known for it's bizarre setting and over the top costumes, it's widely considered one of the first art films ever made. At the time, it was rumored to feature an entirely queer cast.
Purgatory is a woman and queer owned venue on the Bushwick/Ridgewood border. The two story space maintains a commitment to inclusivity and support of all creatives, musicians, and performers.
