Biography

(She/Her) Hannah is an actor who recently graduated from Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre.  She is currently working in southern Wisconsin, but is willing to relocate.  In addition to acting, she has experience in directing, playwrighting, costume construction & wardrobe, stage management, producing, and dramaturgy.  She has worked with Broom Street Theater, Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Watertown Players, Fair Verona Shakespeare Company, and Lawrence University Amateur Theatrics.

Biography

Hannah Amell

Hannah began acting with the Fair Verona Shakespeare Company (Verona, WI), where she developed a love for Shakespeare's work.  During her time with the company, she acted (Romeo & Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Henry IV Part I, As You Like It) directed (The Winter's Tale, Macbeth, Cymbeline), and served as the company's artistic director and social media/public relations manager.

At Lawrence University, Hannah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Psychology.  She was a Ted Cloak Century Scholar, a Fred Gaines Student Playwright, a member of Alpha Psi Omega, the president of Lawrence University Amateur Theatrics, and a manager in the university costume shop.  Her original one act play, In Memoriam, was produced as part of the Fred Gaines series in 2023.  As part of her theatre education, she studied the Stanislavksi system and Alexander Technique.  She acted in several LU productions (Nightfall, The Living, Scapin's Tricks: The Trial, The Businessmakers, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, Menaechmi, As You Like It, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon), as well as stage managed, directed, and worked in costumes.

Hannah has recently worked with the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey (Wardrobe Intern), Northern Sky Theater (NOVA Circle), Watertown Players (Actor), and Broom Street Theater (Actor).

Currently, Hannah is performing in Dream At the Top of Your Lungs with Broom Street Theater (Madison, WI) and writing a short film with fellow LU alum, Nayla Brunnbauer.
