In 2022, Katy made her role and house debut with Opera Omaha as the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, returned to Opera in the Heights for her exciting role debut as Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, and joined New Amsterdam Opera in Boïeldieu's rarely-performed La Dame Blanche. She was to sing Alice Ford in Falstaff with Raylynmor Opera, sadly canceled due to Covid-19. She will debut with the Erie Philharmonic in Handel's Messiah this December.
In 2021, Katy sang Alice Ford in Falstaff in a virtual production for Barn Opera, returns to Little Opera Theater of New York for a virtual performance of Zemlinsky’s Zimmer, and covered Elena in I vespri Siciliani for New Amsterdam Opera. Katy's 2020 season began with the world premiere of Zemlinsky's Zimmer for Little Opera Theater of New York, followed by selections from The Shining for the National Arts Club. In March, Katy placed first in Opera Ithaca's Edward M. Murray International Competition of Voice.
Katy has performed across the United States with companies such as Opera Omaha, Odyssey Opera, Kentucky Opera, Opera Columbus, Opera in The Heights, Salt Marsh Opera, Loft Opera, NY Choral Society, Lexington Philharmonic, Winter Opera St. Louis, Raylynmor Opera, Summer Garden Opera.
Katy apprenticed with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, Kentucky Opera, Dayton Opera , and Central City Opera. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Simpson College and a Master of Music from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance.
When she’s not singing, Katy is a voracious reader who enjoys hiking, horror movies, needlepoint, knitting, and painting watercolors. An Iowa native, Katy lives in New York City with a cat named Kiki.
