Experience

Artistic Director

2011 - Present
Under the sole direction of Ms. Browne, the company was branded as American Liberty Ballet in an effort to better represent the company's dedication to bring a unique American sensibility of inclusion to what has historically been an elitist art. By "taking liberties" as it were, ALB aims to step away from many of the historic confines of body shape, ethnic origin, and age, and works diligently to re-imagine the classics to better reflect the current political and socio-economic climate of our times. Since 2011, ALB has premiered many original and classical ballets choreographed by Ms. Browne, and has also featured guest choreographers such as: Allan McCormick, Quimen Sanchez, Kyle Gardner, Kayla Armgardt, Allie Hutchins, and Erika Keller. Repertoire includes: Jack White and the 7 Sins (March, 2012); The Little Mermaid's Maid (November 2012); A Night of Wepetoire (June, 2013); Cabaret for R&J (February, 2014); Romeo and Jewliet (June 2014); The Spirits of a Summer Day(April 2015); Sylvia ou la Nymphe de Diane (August 2016); Giselle (September 2018); and our annual Nutcracker production titled In a Nutshell. In addition to our performing company, ALB also operates a school in two locations. In line with our values, the ALB school seeks to provide professional ballet education to all interested regardless of age, body type, and experience.
