Benjamin Bradburn is a Los Angeles-based performer and educator. Previously, Benjamin frequently performed for various theatre companies such as the Outfront Theatre and Decatur Performs, as well as with Atlanta Contemporary Ensemble and Tara Winds in Atlanta Georgia. In the fall of 2020 he settled in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles. He is currently an active teacher with Los Angeles Unified School District and saxophonist for Reedplay Quintet.
As a performer, Benjamin Bradburn has given premiere performances by composers Nicole Chamberlin, Dietrich Van Akelyen, and Luigi Zaninelli at various international and regional conferences. The most recent performances include the premieres of "Enceladus, the Bright" by Los Angeles composer Austin Ali and "Trio for violin, saxophone, and piano" by Polina Krasovskaya. Benjamin has performed in masterclasses with Dr. Connie Frigo, Dr. Paul Forsyth, Dr. John Sampen, and Dr. Joseph Lulloff.
As an educator, Benjamin Bradburn has experience teaching and directing elementary, middle and high school band, as well as teaching private saxophone, clarinet, flute and piano lessons from beginner to advanced students. Benjamin was the Elkin City Schools’ Band Director for grades six through twelve. Today he is an instrumental music educator with Los Angeles Unified School District.
Benjamin Bradburn holds a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Appalachian State University where he studied with Dr. Scott Kallestad. His Masters of Music Performance was awarded by the University of California, Los Angeles where his primary professor was Dr. Jan Berry Baker.
