Biography

Christopher "Brother Chris" Clermont

Born and raised in Motown, singer/guitarist Christopher “Brother Chris" Clermont is a stalwart of the Los Angeles and Las Vegas music scenes.  This multi-faceted artist and producer of 7 CDs is an alumnus of Barry White's legendary Love Unlimited Orchestra and jazz organist Brian Auger's Oblivion Express.  In the studio, he contributed heavily to “The Chronic” by Dr. Dre, “Doggystyle” by Snoop Doggy Dogg, “This Is How We Do It” by Montell Jordan, and "Staying Power" by Barry White.  His original song "Ooh California," co-written with singer/songwriter Wes Quave, is the theme song for KCAL9 TV Morning News in Los Angeles.

Throughout his career, he has worked with a long list of artists as diverse as NWA, Michel'le, Kashif, MC Hammer, Rod Stewart, Lisa Stansfield, Kelly Clarkson, Steve Tyrell, Burt Bacharach, Smokey Robinson, The Jacksons, The Nappy Roots, Everlast, Evelyn Champagne King, Melba Moore, Will Downing, Bonnie Pointer, Ali-Ollie Woodson of The Temptations, The Dramatics, The Drifters, The Platters, The Coasters, and many more.

After spending 6 years backing up the Australian boy band Human Nature in their Las Vegas residency, Clermont struck out on his own in 2019.  Once again going back to his roots in the American Blues, he became a Vegas headliner when he debuted his own production "BB & Me: When Love Comes To Town," a musical celebration of the great B.B. King to rave reviews and sold out crowds.  "BB & Me" made its European debut in early 2020 to wildly enthusiastic audiences in Denmark.  Today, Brother Chris has teamed up with Orchestral Events to produce a "pops" version of "BB & Me" targeting performing arts centers worldwide.  In addition to performing and teaching, Clermont authors books, produces a podcast called "The Blues Is Alright" and adds voiceover work to his repertoire.  He is a member of the international blues rock trio TranspHat with its debut EP “Zero” scheduled for release in the fall of 2023 and is currently recording his first solo album entitled "Love. Lies. Bleeding." for his independent record label Existential Current Records.
