Dorothea Herbert
In 2019/20 Dorothea Herbert gave her debut at Semperoper Dresden as Agathe, she performed the title role Salome and Rusalka at Theater Krefeld, sang Gerhilde (Walkure) at Dutch National Opera Amsterdam under the baton of Marc Albrecht. Ms Herbert made her debut at Theater an der Wien Vienna with Zaza in the autumn 2020. In 2021 she is excited to debut at the Glyndebourne Festival in the title role of Beethoven's Fidelio.

Biography

Dorothea Herbert

At the age of 16, she was admitted to the Young Student Program at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich being one of the youngest singing students in Germany ever selected for that program. After graduating from Trinity College of Music in London, she completed her studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and at the Opera Studio of the Welsh National Opera in collaboration with RWCMD. In 2016 she became scholarship holder of Richard Wagner Association in Venice. Her repertoire includes roles such as Senta (Der Fliegende Holländer), Donna Anna, Salome, Rusalka, Leonore (Fidelio), Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg), Elsa, Rosalinde, Agathe, Chrysothemis and Arabella. She gave her debut in Mendelssohn’s 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' under the baton of Ivor Bolton at the Salzburger Festspiele in 2013 and since then she sang at major opera houses in Europe such as Semperoper Dresden, Theater an der Wien, Dutch National Opera Amsterdam and Nationaltheater Mannheim. 2021 Ms Herbert will give her Glyndebourne Festival debut in the title role of Fidelio.
