Jasmin Taylor, née Williams, is an anointed multidisciplinary artist, storyteller and problem solver. She is a native Chicagoan who has trained, worked, and lived intra and internationally. Jasmin has studied under Dance Theater of Harlem, Dance Italia and Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. She has performed at the Harris Theater, the Goodman Theater, the Museum of Contemporary Art, in the Netflix series “Soundtrack”; and in Memoria with the Alvin Ailey Company. Taylor just produced, curated, and choreographed Trust Coming Home in Jan 2023, a weekender for the Lookout Series at Steppenwolf Theater Company.
Taylor is a 2022 Art on theMART 'Year of Dance' commissioned artist, and co-produces the 'Inside the Studio' series for Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, with Motion/Pictures Dance Project. She's also currently producing two films: one in co-production with Full Spectrum Features, and one for a MFA candidate at UCLA. As a choreographer, dancer, and producer she has had the pleasure of working with TEDxStanford, Links Hall, Jamila Woods, Smino Brown, James Alsop; and Grammy-Award-winning artists Cashmere Cat and ChancetheRapper.
Her choreographic work has been featured in VICE, Rolling Stone, Complex Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times, and more. As a vocalist, Jasmin has headlined the Promontory and performed at the Harris Theater, Wicker Park Fest, The METRO, TimeOut Market, and more.
