John Burton is from Gilbert Arizona where he studied with Stefanie Gardner and now attends Brigham Young University where he studies with Jaren Hinckley. He has also had the opportunity to study under world renowned musicians such as Stephen Williamson, Todd Cope, Richie Hawley, Jean-Francois Normand, and Yehuda Gilad. John has competed and won prizes from the Phoenix Symphony Concerto Competition, BYU Concerto Competition, Silverstein Global Clarinet Contest, and International Clarinet Association’s Young Artist Competition. Most recently he was awarded the second place prize in the American Single Reed Association’s International Clarinet Competition
