Born and raised on the West Coast, Justin is a Los Angeles-based trumpet player who had just finished an M.M. in Jazz Trumpet Performance at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California. His musical curiosity blossoms whenever he places his horn to his lips in blending jazz, pop, and classical idioms into the various musical experiences that he’s in.

While attending Thornton for both his B.M. and M.M., Justin has had the opportunity to learn from well-known artists and creators such as Michael Stever, Jason Goldman, Neal Desby, Bob Mintzer, and Patrice Rushen, as well as gain knowledge and guidance from them in establishing himself as an arranger and orchestrator. His eternal quest for knowledge started when he first learned to play the trumpet while diving into the jazz idiom simultaneously. While becoming familiar with the sounds of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Earth, Wind, and Fire, laid the groundwork for the sounds and rhythms that radiate throughout his current pieces.

While away from campus, Justin had enjoyed the adventure of working at the Disneyland Resort as a Jungle Cruise Skipper at the World Famous Jungle Cruise attraction bringing life and vigor to all the guests on each cruise for the past five years before embarking on a post-production career with the IMAX Corporation. No matter where he performs, Justin strives to convey a sense of curiosity and fun ensuring that all that listen are taking part in the fun.
