Biography

Kaitlin Booth

Kaitlin Booth is a passionate cellist with an innate talent for teaching and performing music. She enjoys working with students of all ages and loves the thrill of understanding when something difficult “clicks” for the first time.

Kaitlin's performance history started at the age of 11 when she first started playing the cello. Her love of the instrument and profound dedication brought her all the way to a university level, where she studied Cello Performance on scholarship at Utah Valley University. She has a strong background in performing classical music and loves the work of great classical composers such as Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. Kaitlin has performed in venues such as Abravanel Hall, Eccles Concert Hall, and the De Jong Concert Hall, in cities across the United States, Dominican Republic, and Brazil. She is currently attending graduate school at the University of Utah studying Music Performance and Pedagogy.

Today, aside from her cello teaching and gigs, Kaitlin enjoys performing with her string quartet (artivastrings.com), practicing guitar and piano, hiking, eating frozen yogurt, doing yoga, and spending time with her husband.

Experience

Experience

Cellist, String Quartet

2022 - 2023
I started and founded Artiva Strings in 2022, which was my third time starting a business as a solopreneur. My current role in the group (in addition to playing cello) is to manage our website SEO and online presence, create ads and social media graphics, create print materials, manage our social media strategy, and run all digital advertising campaigns.

Cello Instructor

2020 - 2021
As the Best In Muisc Education Center's in-house cello teacher, I worked with students ages 5 to 85 years old teaching weekly private lessons. During this time, I developed my own teaching curriculum and implemented a variety of educational processes within my studio to increase a sense of belonging, acceptance, and commitment. Each of my students saw large amounts of growth during their time studying with me! Ultimately, I left the studio to create my own in-house cello studio.

CEO and Cello Teacher

2020 - 2023
I started and founded my teaching studio, Kaitlin Booth Cello Lessons, as a way to increase my leadership and business skills and reach an even greater number of students. My current responsibilities include performing administrative duties, managing and scheduling students through the MyMusicStaff software, managing bookkeeping and finances, planning and executing weekly private lessons, executing quarterly masterclasses, managing my social media presence, planning quarterly recitals, and running occasional ad campaigns. Music Student

2017 - 2022
At Utah Valley University, I had the opportunity to study with incredible faculty members such as Dr. Donna Fairbanks, Dr. Tom Keck, Dr. Bryce Rytting, Dr. Ryan Nielsen, and more. My study of the cello was completed under the direction of Dr. Cheung Chau and Walter Haman. As an undergrad, I was also involved in a number of entrepreneurial competitions, business engagements, and community service activities. I graduated with Honors from UVU's Honors Program.
