Katlyn Iacovino
(She/Her) Katlyn Iacovino, soprano, is a native of Tampa, Florida and currently based out of Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Iacovino was recently awarded the Nicholas Raimondi Family Vocal Scholarship at Casa Italia Chicago's 2020 Vocal Scholarship Competition. In 2019, Katlyn travelled to London to perform the role of Morgana in Alcina with Ensemble OrQuesta, as well as Kyiv, Ukraine to perform with the National Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine.

Biography

Katlyn Iacovino

Ms. Iacovino's interest in opera first flourished when she became a member of the opera chorus with Opera Tampa in 2012. During this time, she performed in several operas including Un Ballo in Maschera, La bohème, and Aida under the baton of Maestro Anton Coppola. Ms. Iacovino has also premiered several new works including the role of Laura in Samuel Pummill's Opera Noir (2018) as well as the vocal soloist in of Stephen P. Brown’s chamber work, Tapestry Tampa Bay (2012). Ms. Iacovino's previous roles include Sandrina in La finta giardiniera (2018) with Chicago Vocal Arts Consortium and Laurentia in The Beautiful Bridegroom (2018) with Chicago Summer Opera. Ms. Iacovino's scene work includes Violetta in La Traviata (2019), Adina in L’elisir d’amore (2018), and Despina in Cosí fan tutte (2018). Ms. Iacovino holds a master’s degree in Voice Performance from Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts and a Bachelor of Music degree from Bowling Green State University. At Roosevelt University, Katlyn performed in the 11th season of OperaFest as well as Ida in The Finishing School (2019). As an undergraduate, her most prized role was Mae Jones in Street Scene (2017), a role which she also assistant-choreographed.
