Kerrigan Bigelow is a soprano based in New York City. Kerrigan recently completed her Masters of Music at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Amy Burton and Brian Zeger. She also completed her Bachelors of Music at the same institution. At Juilliard, Kerrigan was a proud recipient of a Kovner Fellowship. 

During her time at Juilliard, Kerrigan enjoyed a wide variety of performance opportunities singing both traditional and contemporary opera and art song. Highlights from previous seasons include debuting as Mariuccia in I Due Timidi, covering Aldimira in Erismena, Flora in The Turn of the Screw, and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. She made her debut as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel to kick off their ‘25-‘26 season. 

An avid recitalist, Kerrigan has given many recitals all over the United States, including Alice Tully Hall. In 2024, she and her duo partner, Amber Scherer, were chosen as the Vocal Arts Honor Recital winners and performed a program at Merkin Hall about history’s silenced women. 

The duo has collaborated extensively together as the New Music Fellows at Songfest and Fellowship recipients of the Federation of the Art Song - adding to their work of bringing history’s silent women to light. In Spring 2026, they stepped into opera for the first time together presenting Poulenc’s La voix humaine, directed by George R. Miller. 

Kerrigan has established herself as a rising figure in the new music scene, having performed in many productions and worked with composers in recent seasons. In a collaboration between Juilliard and Carnegie Hall, she performed Saariaho’s From The Grammar of Dreams in The New Series: The Mad King and Fall of the Weimar Republic: Dancing on the Precipice. Later in the season, she joined The New Series again for a performance of Pierrot Lunaire in celebration of the composer’s 150th birthday. Additionally, Kerrigan has covered the roles of Leona and Leona’s Mother in Cerrone’s In A Grove as part of the Prototype Festival. 

In competition, Kerrigan has been a Region Finalist of the Laffont Competition in both New England and the Gulf Coast, a grant recipient of the Gerda Lissner Lieder/Song Competition, and an encouragement award winner at Opera Index.

Summer 2025 saw Kerrigan in France singing as part of Classic Lyric Art’s festival. Immediately following, she was a Vocal Fellow at Tanglewood, performing the role of La princesse in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges among other concerts. 

Most recently, Kerrigan performed Kurtág’s Kafka Fragments with AXIOM and the workshop of the short opera Roman Fever by Louis Karchin. Spring 2026 also saw Kerrigan make her Carnegie Hall debut in “A Celebration of Philip Glass”. 

Summer 2026 will see her as an Apprentice Artist at the Santa Fe Opera. Following that, she will return to the role of Gretel with Sarasota Opera, making her company debut.
