Biography

Magda Marian

Starting from 1983-90 Magda Mkrtchyan studied at the Music School after A. Gabrielyan, in the department if violin . From 1993-98 she studied at the Yerevan State Conservatory after A. Komitas, department of solo singing, after which she continued her education of master’s degree and the Professor was Gohar Galachyan.
Since 1999 Magda Mkrtchian is a soloist of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater after I. A. Spendiaryan.
In 2000 she performed at Giuseppe Verdi's "Troubadour" opera as a solist of Leonra and the debut, conductor was Ohan Duryan).
In 2000-01 Has masterclass in the classes of L. Pavarotti and M. Meriggo (Italy), participated in the vocal improvement classes of G. Vishnevskaya (Moscow) and N. Figuier (Berlin). As well she had solo concerts worldwide; including Dorothy Chandler Pavilion (2001, USA), Konzerthause (2004, Berlin), Nicolaisaal (2004, Potsdam), Handel House (2004, Halle). Siemens-Villa (2004), Dodger’s Palace (2005, Italy), Justinian Palace (2005, Italy), D. Shostakovich State Philharmonic Concert Hall (2009, St. Petersburg). 2005 Performed Brahms' Requiem (conductor: A. Wasserman, Germany).Since 2006 she is teaching at the Yerevan State Conservatory. She has as well performed in  Verdi's "Nabucco"Abigaile, Verdi’s Aida/Aidas role,Bellini's "Norma"/Norma ,Puccini Tosca ,Rakhmaninov’s Aleco /Zenfira ,Schubert's "Miriam's Victory Song", Mozart's "Don Giovanne"/Donna Anna and other operas. In 2008 Founded she solo performed during the concert concert dedicated to  framework of Armenia-Italy and Armenia-Russia during
 Obrastsova's 70th birthday (conductor: Giuseppe Sabbatini).She has released 4 CDs in the genre of classical works. She was awarded a number of prizes: the first prize of the "Lisa" charity competition (1995), A. 1st prize at the 1st Karapetyan Republican Competition (1996), winner of the Belcanto Republican Competition Araks Davtyan և "Hope" Prize (1996), Grand Prix at the Hildegard Pabelic International Competition (2000), Ջ . Gold medal for the best performance of Verdi's "Requiem" (2001).
From 2014 she is awarded with the title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Armenia.
