Lyric Soprano Rebecca Davis is known for her brilliant and warm vocal timbre, as well as dynamic vocal versatility and remarkable vocal extension. Her voice has been characterized as “powerful, majestic, captivating, elegant, and thrilling to the bone”. Rebecca made her Chicago Symphony Orchestra debut in 2008 singing Salaambo’s aria from the movie score of Citizen Kane. In 2006 Rebecca debuted at Carnegie Hall singing with Mid America productions and returned in 2012 to sing with the American Symphony Orchestra in Mahlers' 8th symphony. Rebecca has appeared in the roles of many heroines including Violetta, Fiordiligi, Ilia, Mimi, Micaela, Tatyana, the Countess, Donna Elvira, Tosca, Baby Doe, and Magda in La Rondine. She has appeared with such companies as Hannover Staatsoper, Opera San Jose, Theater Bremen, Theater Freiburg, Stadttheater Bremerhaven, Theater für Niedersachsen, Chicago Opera Theater, Sarasota Opera, Kentucky Opera, Festival Opera, Livermore Valley Opera, Dayton Opera, Opera North, Opera Idaho, Fresno Grand Opera, DuPage Opera Theatre, Midsummer Mozart, Hidden Valley Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, and San Francisco Opera’s prestigious Merola program. Rebecca has earned numerous singing awards, including the Grand Prize of the Chicago Bel Canto, Finalist of the Tri-State Region in the Metropolitan Opera Competition, Finalist of the Renata Tebaldi and the José Iturbi competition, as well as the 2012 winner of the Irene Dalis competition. She started her Fest position at the Hannover Staatsoper in the 2013/2014 season singing Mimi in La Boheme, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte, Micaela in Carmen, and Helena in A Midsummer Nights' Dream, and Phebe in Castor et Pollux. She also appeared with the Midsummer Mozart Festival singing Mozart arias and with the Dayton Philharmonic for Mendelssohn's Lobgesang. In the 2013/2014 season at the Hannover Staatsoper, Rebecca debuted new roles of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Margherita and Elena in Boitos' Mefistofele, and Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus, as well as reprising the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Micaela in Carmen and Phebe in Castor et Pollux. The 2015/2016 season, She appeared at the Hannover Staatsoper as Donna Anna, Mimi, and debuted the title role in Dvorak's Rusalka, as well as the Soprano soloist in Mahler's 4th symphony. The 2016/2017 season included role reprises at the Hannover Staatsoper as Mimi, Micaela, Rosalinda, and the Countess. Rebecca also appeared as Fiordiligi with Theater Freiburg and Mimi at Stadttheater Bremerhaven. 2017/2018 included role debuts at the Hannover Staatsoper as Louise in Henze's Der Junge Lord, Erste Dame in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Agathe in Weber's Der Freischütz, Marie in Smetana's Die Verkaufte Braut, and one role reprisal at Theater Bremen in the title role of Rusalka. Rebecca also appeared with the Hamelner Kantorei singing the soprano solos in Honeggers' König David and Hör mein Bitten by Mendelssohn. In the 2018/2019 season, Rebecca sang her first Konstanza in Die Entführung aus dem Serail with Opera San Jose, a dream role debut as Madama Butterfly at the Hannover Staatsoper, with role reprisals as Erste Dame and Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Rebecca also appeared with Theater für Niedersachsen on a Mozart/Salieri Concert singing arias from Mozart and Salieri operas as well as newly rediscovered lieder from both composers. The 2019/2020 season included singing Clerida in Theater für Niedersachsen's Croesus, which had it's final dress rehearsal before the production was cancelled due to COVID-19. In 2021/2022 Rebecca will sing Agathe in Aalto Theater Essen's production of Der Freischütz and Erste Dame in Theater Bremen's Die Zauberflöte, as well as present a recital at Hannover's Congress Center of Comtemporary Pieces and two premieres featuring 8 Cellists, Soprano, and Piano.
