I am a melodic and contemporary singer-songwriter who writes music that meets at a crossroads of indie, alternative, and pop genres. I have been singing, writing, and creating music ever since I was a little girl coming up with melodies on my family’s piano and making up lyrics about chipmunks. Since this time my love for music has only grown. I am passionate about improving my musical skills and knowledge everyday and collaborating with my peers to grow as a musician and person.
I find the most joy when I am writing songs at my piano. When I am singing and creating my own music I am my most truthful and authentic self. I write stories and create characters woven into beautiful melodies. Sometimes I write about my feelings and thoughts on the world. Sometimes I write about nothing and it becomes something. I think that my music is very relatable and I love to share it with people and hear how it connects to their lives. I also have a deep love for harmony and I try to shape my stories with rich chords that communicate my message most effectively. I take inspiration from many different artist’s such as Fiona Apple, The Beattles, Amy Winehouse, The Kinks and more.
While my first musical love was songwriting, I have really expanded my skills and interests since becoming a student at Eastern Washington University. I am currently pursuing a degree in Music Technology as well as studying, voice, composition and entrepeneurship. I have really enjoyed studying composition and learning how to compose classically has improved my songwriting greatly. I want to incorporate more classical elements into my songwriting as well as explore writing commissioned compositions. Additionally, my degree focus on music technology has helped me pursue the recording and production of my music. I am interested in working in sound design, recording, and producing and this degree has really opened my eyes to this part of the musical world and how I can be a part of it.
In addition to being a musician, I am also an athlete and Division One pole vaulter at Eastern Washington University. I am a very active person and I take inspiration from my athletic experience and the outdoors. Being an athlete has taught me so much about resilience and hard work and I carry these skills into my musical passion. I am currently working on the official release of my first single, Movie Screens, and I am so excited to gain momentum as a musician and share even more of my music with the world.
