Tony Daise is a Connecticut-based freelance violinist and violist who maintains an active schedule performing regularly as a chamber, soloist, and orchestral musician in and around the New York Tri-State and New England areas.
As an orchestral musician, Tony recently won a position at Ohio Light Opera Orchestra as a section violinist and will serve as Concertmaster for the production of Me & My Girl. Tony has served as Principal Second Violin of the UCONN and Connecticut Symphony Orchestras; the latter being where he completed fellowship this past 2023/24 season. In addition to his most recent position, Tony regularly appears with the North Worcester Symphony orchestra and as a substitute with the Atlantic Symphony Orchestra. Summer festivals attended include Interlochen Center for the Arts, Philadelphia International Music Festival, and NYU Summer Strings Festival.
As a chamber musician, Tony has received masterclasses with members of the Bennewitz, Cyprus, Lydian, and Clipper Mill Quartets among others. Most recently, he curated a chamber music series entitled the Umoja Music Collective; a chamber music series dedicated to curating immersive concert experiences of underrepresented composers through sensorial enhancement and performance.
As an educator, Tony has taught privately for over half a decade and currently teaches at the Fox Hill School of Music. Teaching is a core proponent of Tony's relationship with music as he believes the knowledge passed down from musician to musician is what will keep the love of the industry alive.
Tony will be entering his final year of study during the 2024/25 season and will be receiving his BM in violin performance from the University of Connecticut. He hopes to pursue graduate studies in the future. His principal violin teachers have included Solomiya Ivakhiv, Renate Falkner, Julie Eskar, and Anita Garcia.
