Hello there! I’m Yena Han (YEH-nuh Hahn or 한예나). I use she/her pronouns. I was born in South Korea, but my family moved to Seattle shortly afterwards. I graduated from Rice University in Houston with a B.A. in Theatre and English, and I’m currently working as an actor, Squarespace web designer, and teaching artist in Los Angeles. I enjoy expanding my range by switching between mediums and genres, and I take an interdisciplinary approach towards my own creative vision. Whether I’m doing Shakespeare, designing a portfolio for a client, or leading a guided meditation, I’m passionate about utilizing the arts as a means of honoring individual experiences while fostering connection. As a woman and a person of color, I believe that the way Asians are portrayed in the media is problematic, and that there are stereotypes to be challenged. Representation matters, and I aim to play a part in that representation responsibly. Ultimately, I strive to create a body of work that illuminates and engages with people in a way that is brave, playful, and transformative.
