Now in its 51st season, Hartford Chorale seeks a Music Director who will bring his/her/their creativity, imagination and charisma to propel this august ensemble towards its next fifty years. A 100+ member, mixed voice, volunteer choir, the Chorale is the preeminent symphonic chorus of Greater Hartford, a metropolitan region of over 1.5 million people. The Chorale is engaged in three to four artistic projects each season and regularly performs with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, including recent performances of Carmina Burana, Messiah, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem, and Brahms’ A German Requiem. The Music Director is responsible for the artistic direction of the group and works to align the Chorale’s mission with its strong beliefs in equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice. The Music Director reports to the Board of Governors and partners with the Executive Director in a collaborative leadership model.
