About

The CMG was born one fine day in 1835. Imagine Franz Liszt, a piano teacher… Today, nearly 2,500 students aged 4 to 25 learn music and theatre. 150 teachers supported by 7 deans and coordinators guide students in learning 24 disciplines. The CMG is part of the Confederation of Geneva Schools of Music, Jaques-Dalcroze Rhythm, Dance and Theater (CEGM) . Each discipline has its own study plan and a myriad of complementary courses are provided internally or by partner schools of the CEGM . Specific courses testify to the dynamism and modernity of our institution. The CMG maintains privileged links with the HEM of Geneva and thus supports motivated and talented students from their beginning to the entry into professional classes. The CMG is present throughout the canton, the beating heart of the institution being its magnificent building in Place Neuve. A remarkable library is available to the youngest as well as researchers. The parents of pupils have their representative association, the ASPEM .
