OPERA TOUCHES THE SOUL The complex art form of opera has fascinated people from all cultures for over 400 years. The directness of the moment, the merging of poetry and composition in the expression of the human voice arouses curiosity, imagination and emotions. But it is also a mirror of the world and of human existence. OPERA WORKSHOP Melanie Diener, world-renowned soprano from Waiblingen, and the American baritone Thomas Hampson, one of the most legendary singers of our time, initiated the International Opera Workshop together with the city of Waiblingen and invite the best young talents to Waiblingen. The international opera workshop is aimed at young singers from Germany and abroad. Legendarily outstanding talents at the interface of study and work are addressed. Participation in the opera workshop will be advertised. Selection criteria are excellence, which is proven by work samples, education and references. 10-12 participants will be selected, who will work in public with Melanie Diener and Thomas Hampson for 6 days and take part in the final concert with the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen conducted by Vlad Iftinca. As part of the supporting program, the course participants, who are accommodated with host families from the region, present themselves with small performances in public places. Participation, encounters and intercultural exchange should be made possible in this way.
