KIRCHHEIMBOLANDEN – THE SMALL RESIDENCE
Kirchheimbolanden, or as the locals call Kibo or Kerchem, is located between Kaiserslautern and Mainz, right on Napoleon's former imperial road, today's L401. The town stretches about three kilometers from north to south. It camps around the wooded mountain and climbs the adjacent heights with its new development areas. A city for a good 600 years, Kirchheimbolanden acquired the medieval fortifications under the Counts of Sponheim and the charming Baroque style under the Princes of Nassau-Weilburg. Seat of a Land Commissariat in the last century, district town since 1900.
