Oper im Berg Festival

of the spirit of the Oper im Berg Festival is to give young artists a chance. A chance to build up your opera experience as a young musician, singer or conductor and to be able to offer this later in the opera business. Established artists often meet very young but great talents, who can of course take a lot with them from this collaboration. The singers at the performances and concerts of the Oper im Berg Festival are outstanding artists who have either already started their great careers - like Paolo Lardizzone, Maria Tomassi, Mirella Bunoaica, etc., or have them in front of them. Many have "started" with us! Within the Grandi Voci competition, we always discover new incredible talents that we give chances with big roles and that we use in our productions. Every now and then very young people join the ensemble, or in exceptional cases one or the other big world star. This mixture of experience and youthful spontaneity creates an incredible energy on stage. The orchestra is always made up of the best young musicians and instrumental soloists in Salzburg. The quality does not depend on age, as we always find enormous talent who play outstandingly at the age of 15 and win international competitions, but would like to gain experience in the operatic repertoire . Our conductors have extensive operatic experience and have, among other things, great and important theaters conducted. Our scores are specially arranged for our orchestra, resulting in a particularly impressive sound. Our orchestra is usually made up of around 20-25 people. In many theaters amplification is already being done with microphones because the weak singers, no longer drown out the oversized orchestras. This is not the case with us, we pay attention to a good balance.
