The Philadelphia Wind Symphony is a professional ensemble whose members share a common goal of engaging the Philadelphia community through presenting performances of the band and wind ensemble literature. Founded in 2011 by Virginia Allen, this is a 51-member volunteer ensemble of woodwind, brass and percussion players are citizen artists who are engaged in various professional pursuits. Under the direction of Paul Bryan, The Philadelphia Wind Symphony presents half a dozen concerts each season around the Philadelphia region. The ensemble is committed to high-quality performances of standard wind ensemble literature while exploring new artistic heights of contemporary music.
