Description
This all-Mozart program is a joyous feast of Mozart masterpieces. The title work is the celebratory Coronation Mass, so named because it became the preferred music for imperial coronations, including two Habsburg emperors. The Symphony No. 40 in g minor is one of his most celebrated and widely performed works and one of a trio of symphonies (all written within three months in 1788), considered the pinnacle of his symphonic works. Rounding out this fabulous program is the rapturous motet Exsultate, jubilate for soprano and the breathtaking Piano Concerto No. 20, in which Maestro Radu will perform as soloist while conducting from the keyboard (as did Mozart).

From its very first performance in Dublin in 1742, Messiah was a huge sensation. For more than three decades, VoxAmaDeus has presented to the Philadelphia region annual performances of Handel’s masterpiece, now a Christmas season tradition. Remaining true to Handel’s vision, this is the complete work performed on original Baroque instruments. But Maestro Radu makes a few changes each time, so no two performances are ever quite the same. This will be the 2025 edition! This year, make Messiah part of your holiday tradition—and come and be uplifted!
