Description
You've heard of Tin Pan Alley's greats like George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Scott Joplin, and Cole Porter, but have you heard of the women behind these men?
In the spirit of empowering women as Women's History Month approaches, the women of West End Lyric are proud to present: The Women of Tin Pan Alley, a cabaret and fundraiser, which will feature works that showcase the rarely heard songwriting talents of Kay Swift, Dorothy Fields, Ann Ronell, Dana Seusse, Maria Grever, Irene Kitchings & Bernice Petkere.
Performing these works are the West End Lyric executive board, their voice students, and local Boston musicians!
In addition, local painter, Jimmy Iwonawa, has graciously donated an original painting for silent auction that depicts our spring opera: L'amico Fritz! The bidding starts at $300 to have this beautiful piece in your home or location of choice!
All proceeds from the performance and fundraiser will support West End Lyric's season and the all-women executive team that runs this music collective!
Reception follows the Concert.
