Serena Huang is a graduate of the Juilliard School’s Pre-College Division as a student of Bart Feller and Temple University’s Boyer College of Music & Dance as a student of Mimi Stillman. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Kimmel Center, and other popular venues as both a soloist and an ensemble musician. Serena has been the recipient of various awards including those of the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra (NJIO) Concerto Competition, the Boyer College Alumni Award, and the Young Opus International Music Competition. Serena is currently pursuing her master's with Professor Mihi Kim at l'École Normale de Musique de Paris.
In addition to her musical studies, Serena is on a mission to revolutionize creativity through collaboration over competition. In May 2020, Serena co-founded Creative Baggage, a podcast & community giving voice to the unspoken baggage of pursuing a career in the arts. Through the podcast, she has interviewed prominent musicians such as Elizabeth Rowe (Boston Symphony Orchestra), Erica Peel (Philadelphia Orchestra), Noa Kageyama (Bulletproof Musician), and Mimi Stillman (Dolce Suono Ensemble) about their personal journeys and ideas for the future of the arts industry. Serena's initiatives have led the Creative Baggage team to present the University of Maryland's NexNOW Fest, as well as pitch an innovative project at enCORE Accelerando 2022 in Budapest, Hungary. Following their project pitch, the team won a grant to build their project - a database of opportunities For the Lost Creative.
Serena is also currently serving as a content consultant for Spacenotes - a new music ed-tech startup focused on making music education delightful and accessible for all.
