In 2017 Emily accepted a one-year position with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra.
After this, Emily moved to Germany for further studies, first at the Hochschule für Musik Weimar with Jörg Brückner and since 2021 at the Hochschule für Musik Trossingen with Saar Berger.
Having begun on the piano and clarinet as a child, Emily Farmer began studying the horn at age 15 with Andrew McAfee, formerly principal horn of the North Carolina Symphony. She received her Bachelor of Music from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and subsequently began her Master of Music at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, studying with Dale Clevenger and Richard Seraphinoff.
In 2017 Emily accepted a one-year position with the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra in Bosnia-Herzegovina. During this time, she also was invited to the Orchestra Academy of Tyrol Festival Erl in Austria and Music Academy International in Trentino, Italy.
After completing her masters, Emily moved to Germany for further studies and an orchestral career. She first completed postgraduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Weimar with Jörg Brückner and since 2021 she has pursued another master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen with Saar Berger.
