Guillermo Marigliano performs live a solo guitar concert called 21st Century New Tango & Latin Music, a fusion between jazz, tango and South American rhythms.

Concerts at International Jazz Festivals and world music in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Uruguay and Belgium.

Biography

Guillermo Marigliano

Guillermo Marigliano, musician, guitarist, composer and arranger, has been leading his artistic project "Marigliano Latin Fusion Quartet" for 20 years with six albums released. His last studio work is “Alpha & Omega” (2020) a new album with seven original jazz Latin fusion compositions.

As an Argentinian and Latin musician, he has recorded Tango music albums, and performs a live solo guitar concert called 21st Century New Tango & Latin Music, a fusion between jazz, tango, and South American rhythms.

As a session musician, he has performed and recorded in Argentina and Brazil with renowned jazz and popular artists.

He has performed at the International Jazz Festivals and world music in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Uruguay and Belgium.

Teaching is also a very important part of his work. From 2008 to 2019 Guillermo taught Improvisation, Chord Melody and Music Theory at the ITMC (Technological Institute of Contemporary Music), the first College of Music in Argentina. He also conducts clinics and guitar workshops during concert tours which are used as part of festival activities.

He is a Parker instruments exclusive artist and endorser since 2011 and a Kirlin Cables and Godin Guitars endorser since 2022.

Directed the Musical Comedy "Yo No Soy Amy" a musical play about the life of Amy Winehouse with two full seasons at the Maipo Theater, one of the most prestigous theaters in Argentina. The play was nominated in 2016 for two "HUGO" awards.

For movies, Guillermo composed the music for the documentary "12000 Nights de Jazz", awarded in Havana (Cuba) and Trieste (Italy). He composed the music for the film "The Jazz Is like the Bananas" released in theaters in 2018.

He was a columnist at the music industry magazine “Todo Guitarra y Bajo”, an online magazine published in Argentina and Latin America.

He has written three educational teaching books for guitar edited by Ellisound Publishing.

In 2023, Tango Guitar Method, a new book will be published in the US by Sheet Music Now Inc.

Based in Los Angeles since 2021, Guillermo runs and hosts a weekly jam session in Culver City at The Industry Café & Jazz. Also, he runs weekly performances of Latin Music with Nylon Guitar at the Garden Cafe in Sherman Oaks, The Yamaava Casino & Resort in San Manuel, and The Culver Hotel in Culver City. Working with him at these sessions are local LA singer/songwriters Zana Messia and Valeria Mason.

Guillermo is also a Guitar teacher at Santa Monica Music Center since January 2022
