Madeleine Zuckerman

Madeleine Zuckerman, soprano, is a first-year student at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music, studying Voice & Opera Performance with Theresa Brancaccio. She is a 2022 Youngarts Honorable Mention Winner, as well as a Third Place winner for the 2022 NATS National Student Auditions, a Fall 2021 Classical Singer Finalist, a First Place Winner in the Upper Treble Division of the Michigan State (2021 Fall) and Great Lakes Region (2021 Spring) NATS Competition, and a finalist in the Interlochen Concerto Competition. With Northwestern Opera Theater, Madeleine has performed in the Midwestern Premiere of Christopher Cerrone's In a Grove, and in the Chorus of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte.

Madeleine is a recent graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, where she studied voice with Laura Osgood Brown. Her favorite operatic credits at Interlochen include: Patience (Gilbert & Sullivan’s Patience), Stella (Viardot’s Le Dernier Sorcier), The Vain Man (Portman’s The Little Prince), and Euridice (Glück’s Orfeo ed Euridice).

This summer 2023, she will be attending Berlin Opera Academy, performing the role of Minerva in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld, and covering the role of Papagena in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte.
