Robby Syruws is the proud Founder and Executive Director of Performing Hearts Thetare. He graduated from Buffalo State College with his Bachelors (2008) in Childhood Education with a minor in English Language Arts and his Masters in Educational Technology. (2010). As a performer, Robby has been seen in countless productions throughout the Western New York area for over a decade now. Robby has also been a classroom teacher having taught fourth and first grade. When not teaching in the classroom, Robby devotes his time to providing educational theatre opportunities to youth in the ocmmunity, having directed and choregoraphed numerous musical productions for local schools and community groups. In 2018, Robby began the journey to create a program for students to explore the performing arts that would provide an engaging, creative and safe atmopsheret. In the summer of 2019, Robby founded Performing Hearts Theatre which debuted with a three-week theatre program that culminated in a production of Disney's Aladdin Jr. Though the following year would be interupted by the pandemic, Robby found creative virtual ways to keep students engaged and connected to the program. By Summer of 2021, Performing Hearts Theatre resumed back to its regular programming with students taking the stage once again after an almost two-year hiatus. In 2022 student enrollment doubled and Performing Hearts Theatre continues to serve the youth of the community through arts education. Robby is forever grateful to be combining his love of teaching with his passion for theatre and continues to find ways to expand programming to reach even more young performers with Performing Hearts Theatre!
