Puerto Rican soprano and oboist Adrinelle Chiesa García has twice appeared as a soloist with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra—both as vocalist and instrumentalist—and recently made her Lincoln Center debut in Luciano Berio’s Sinfonia. She has collaborated with the Mannes Opera and Orchestra in the New York premieres of David T. Little’s Vinkensport and Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Hildegard. Upcoming highlights include her role debut as Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni with The Opera Next Door and a performance with the Puerto Rico Philharmonic in Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors. Deeply committed to honoring her Puerto Rican heritage, Chiesa creates performances that invite audiences into the depth, sensitivity, and power of music while celebrating modern and contemporary Puerto Rican and Latin American vocal repertoire.
Chiesa completed her bachelor’s degree in Oboe Performance at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico with Professor Jesús Ramos, taking voice lessons as electives with Professors Diana Alvarado and José Torres. She then earned an Artistic Diploma in Vocal Performance with Dr. Alba Franco-Cancel. During this time, she was a fellow of The Olga Iglesias Project and received the Roberto I. Ferdman and María Zeno-Annexy awards from Pro Arte Musical, as well as the “Bel Canto” award from Dr. José Rabelo. Chiesa received an Encouragement Award at the 2024 Metropolitan Laffont Competition (Puerto Rico District). Currently, Adrinelle resides in New York City, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in Vocal Performance at Mannes School of Music with Professor Laquita Mitchell.
