Jessica D. Albino (she/her) is an Afro-Puerto Rican artivist, actor, dancer, choreographer, storyteller, and drummer, who promotes and educates youth and adults in Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena. In 1992, Albino began her studies in Chicago, IL with ‘Grupo Yuba’ Folkloric Group at the “Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center’. In 2011, Albino moved to the Tampa Bay, Fl area to continue working in cultural programs focusing on wellness
community engagement, dance, drumming classes, and extended educational programming for middle and high school music and dance students. Her work has taken her to teach in Hawaii. Albino’s musical performances are presented throughout the year, at many learning institutions, community festivals, concerts, and theme parks in the State of Florida and abroad.
