Josh Olson is a freelance horn player in Los Angeles. He completed Master of Music in Horn Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music in Long Beach, California where he studied with Dylan Hart and Jenny Kim. There, he was the graduate student assistant for the BCCM graduate advisor, a brass chamber music coach, and a member of the University Wind Quintet. In 2022, he won a two-year fellowship with the California Young Artists Symphony. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Josh holds a B.M. in Horn Performance from Missouri State University where he studied with Dr. Lisa Casey. During his time, he also studied with Andrew Bain, Principal Horn of the Los Angeles Philharmonic while participating in the Invested Musician Master Courses. During his time at Missouri State University, Josh performed at CBDNA, MMEA, Kauffman Hall, and the Fanfare at a Dallas Winds concert. Outside of his university ensembles, Josh subbed with the Missouri Philharmonic and performed as Assistant Horn with the Springfield Symphony.
