Kate Meyer started singing during her freshman year at Montana State University Billings in the University Choir in 2011. During her second semester of singing she was hooked and decided that that was what she wanted to do with her life. In her second year, she added a double major of Communication Arts with a Theater emphasis. While living in Billings and attending school, Meyer volunteered for a number of community theatre productions including Les Misérables, Spamalot, and A Little Night Music, in addition to many opera productions including Aida, Susannah, Gianni Schicchi, and Die Zauberflöte. After a year at the University of Montana in Missoula, in their Master’s in Music Performance degree program, Meyer transferred to the University of Nevada Las Vegas, where she finished her Master’s degree. Between then and now, Kate has performed in a number of productions and programs including, Alcina, The Marriage of Figaro, Dialogues of the Carmelites, Blodwen (in Welsh), Nosferatu, and Inside Out. Young Artist Programs and workshops Meyer has attended include Chicago Summer Opera, Amherst Early Music Festival, Heifetz Baroque Vocal Workshop, Druid City Opera Workshop, and AIMS in Graz Lieder Studio. In addition to performance, while attending UNLV, Meyer was assigned to teach a number of voice students, at which time she found her love for teaching voice lessons and acting. Over many summers, Meyer has worked at a number of theater and music camps in the Billings area, focusing on voice.
