Katelyn Poetker is currently in her final year of undergraduate studies at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where she is a student of Richard Hawkins. Katelyn spent the summer of 2022 at the Music Academy of the West, a highly selective summer program for young musicians. During her time there she won the Music Academy of the West's Keston MAX competition, which resulted in her fellowship with the London Symphony. While at Oberlin, she can frequently be seen playing with the Akron Symphony Orchestra, as well as the prestigious Oberlin Contemporary Music Ensemble. Katelyn has participated in master classes with Anthony McGill, Richie Hawley, David Shifrin, and numerous others. When Katelyn is not performing she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and gaming.
