Matthieu Esnult is a young and engaged French pianist, who has recently performed in over 70 countries on 7 continents. Among his concerts highlights were performing Goebbels's Surrogate Cities at the Royal Festival Hall (broadcast on BBC 3) for its UK premiere and the opening of the London Olympic Games celebrations at the Southbank Centre and two acclaimed recitals at New York Carnegie Hall. Matthieu Esnult has given solo recitals in the major concert halls of China such as Shanghai Daning Theatre, Beijing La Plantation, Dezhou Grand Theatre, Harbin Concert Hall, Baotou Grand Theatre, Zhuhai HUAFA Grand Theatre, Changzhou Phoenix Valley Theatre, Anhui Grand Theatre. Alongside his solo piano career, Matthieu is a very in demand accompanist and chamber musician. He has worked for productions at Opera Bastille and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. His chamber music work has seen him perform several times at the Wigmore Hall. Matthieu has won a collection of many national and international prizes and he has been invited to give piano masterclasses in France, UK, Tunisia, Scotland, America, China, Mongolia, and India, where he is a visiting professor at Nagaland Conservatoire. He has featured in broadcasts and interviews on TV and radio networks such as BBC Radio 3, France Culture, French national television France 3, Radio Tunisie, Chinese National TV and Radio. After studying at the Ecole Normale Alfred Cortot in Paris, he studied in London with Mikhail Kazakevich, obtaining a Master in piano in 2013 with Distinction at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London and the Artist Diploma with Distinction in 2015. He also studied French music repertoire with Bernard d'Ascoli and Pascal Rogé. An engaged musician, and convinced that classical music can change the world, Matthieu has been performing regularly in retirement houses, hospitals, as well as performing for charities. He is a UNICEF partner with Yury Revich for Dreamland UK, and he is very concerned about climate change: he has for instance given piano performances alongside Greta Thunberg in London. Passionate about arts and humanities, Matthieu also holds Masters's degrees in Music, in Literature and in Philosophy from the Sorbonne University. Also very interested by body and mind relationship, he also is an instructor of Zhineng Qigong, that he learnt in China, and he regularly gives Qigong class for dancers and musicians.
