Described as an "extremely musical and sensitive" musician whose playing "speaks to the soul", Reuel Hon is a 23-year old American prize-winning pianist currently residing in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally from Southern California, he started playing piano at the age of 5 and after discovering his strong love and desire to pursue music professionally at the age of 14, Hon began studying piano seriously. Since then he has gained experience and continues as a soloist and chamber/collaborative pianist, and has collaborated with various musicians and students at the Chapman University Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music, the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, and the Longy School of Music. 

Hon is a prizewinner of many piano competitions hosted by the Music Teacher's Association of California (MTAC) and the California Professional of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT). These include the MTAC Theme Festivals, MTAC Concerto Competition, and the State Honors Competition. International competition accolades include top prizes from the Elite International Music Competition, the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition “Salzburg”, the Crescendo International Music Competition with a special prize to participate in their International Student Exchange Program in Japan, and more recently the Los Angeles “Golden Classical Music Awards” International Music Competition. His performance engagements have taken him to venues across America and abroad, most notably to Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Universität Mozarteum’s Solitär Hall in Salzburg Austria, the Amalfi Coast Piano Festival in Italy, and Walt Disney Concert Hall’s BP Hall in Los Angeles. Additionally, Hon has also performed live at the Longy School of Music, Chapman University's Salmon Recital Hall, Oberlin Conservatory's Warner Hall, Manhattanville College in Purchase NY, California State University, Fullerton and at the Musco Center of the Arts in Orange, California as a member of the Chapman Orchestra and Wind Symphony.

In the 2023-2024 season, Hon gave a world premiere of his composition titled "Nemophila" at the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA to great acclaim. Additionally, Hon and his chamber group had the privilege to personally work with American composer Adolphus Hailstork, where they performed the composer's "Deux Chansons" for piano, voice, and clarinet.

Hon has also participated in various music festivals, which include the Oberlin Piano Festival (2018), the Summit Music Festival in NY (2019), Orford Musique in Quebec, Canada (2022), and the Amalfi Coast Piano Festival in Italy (2023). Hon has been featured in many masterclasses with esteemed faculty such as: Jerry Wong, Kevin Fitz-Gerald, Bernadene Blaha, Enrico Elisi, Daniel Shapiro, Lidia Boguslavsky, Stéphane Lemelin, Victor Rosenbaum, and Dr. Alvin Chow. His former piano teachers are Sofia Zukerman, Dr. Janice Park, and Dr. Grace Fong. Hon is a recent graduate of Chapman University, where he graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors and as a 2023 Liberace Scholar, receiving a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a minor in Music Technology. He studied with Dr. Grace Fong, the Director of Keyboard Studies at Chapman University.

Currently, Hon attends the Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA where he pursues a Master in Music degree with renowned Grammy-nominated Lithuanian pianist and composer Andrius Žlabys.
