Baltimore Musicales is dedicated to preserving the art of the song recital, providing performance opportunities for outstanding regional artists, and building community through shared musical experiences.
Our Inspiration
Modeled after the 19th century French soirée musicale, or musical evening, our concerts feel like an intimate gathering of friends and neighbors. Each musicale is an opportunity for artists to express the human experience, reflect the times, and share their own stories while uplifting and inspiring people through song.
With a rotating roster of nearly 100 professional singers and instrumentalists, Baltimore Musicales reflects the rich cultural diversity of our community. We perform musical settings of poetry with universal themes, written across centuries and continents, and sung in over ten different languages. Each piece is introduced by the performer who shares their thoughts and the history of the selection, allowing listeners to form deeper and more personal connections to the music and the artists.
In times of celebration or hardship, music brings us together, gives us hope, and reminds us that we are not alone. It is during these moments of shared beauty that we feel most connected and alive.
Join us, and experience the transcendent power of the human voice.
We are excited to perform our holiday program this year at Woodbrook Baptist Church in Towson. Join us for gorgeous new arrangements of beloved carols and Hanukkah songs, excerpts from Handel's Messiah, and seasonal gems by Peter Cornelius, Aaron Copland, Roger Quilter, Samuel Barber, Hyo Geun Kim and more.
