Jeunesses Musicales Canada

JM Canada is a non-profit organization whose mission is twofold: 1. To promote the discovery of various types of classical music among young audiences. 2. To support the development of young classical musicians on the national stage. When it comes to introducing young audiences to classical music, JM Canada is committed to presenting and/or producing concerts and musical activities designed to promote awareness and understanding of various forms of classical music among youth ages 0 to 16. While participating in the Western classical music tradition, JM Canada also wishes to explore traditional music from other cultures (China, India, etc.) as well as jazz in its programming, while making the deliberate choice to exclude popular music. To this end, JM Canada is committed to training young Canadian musicians (instrumentalists, singers, and composers) through concert tours, among other projects, that prioritize their national development without superseding on timely international opportunities.
