Madama Butterfly

Description
This melodious and iconic opera is so beloved and integral to us, from the opening atmospheric choral triads of Butterfly's entrance to the profoundly moving dénouement, the epitome of operatic tragedy. Butterfly reaches into our inmost souls and shows us so many things about ourselves and our society.
An Opera in Three Acts
Music by Giacomo Puccini
Libretto by Luigi Illica & Giuseppe Giacosa
based on "Madame Butterfly" by David Belasco,
in turn based on a short story by John Luther Long
Sung in Italian with English surtitles
There will be one 20-minute intermissions
