Theater Lüneburg

General In recent years, the Lüneburg Theater has grown into a well-respected three-section theater. At its three venues, it presents around 35 new productions and around 500 performances or events per season. Since 2010 it has been under the artistic direction of artistic director Hajo Fouquet. Together with administrative director Raphaela Weeke (since July 2021), he is also managing director of Theater Lüneburg GmbH. The central concern of the artistic direction is to make diverse theater, especially for the citizens of the city and the surrounding region. It does not want to limit itself to individual categories - as is the rule with houses of this size - but show the entire spectrum of spoken theater, opera, operetta, musicals, revue, dance, concerts and accompanying or independent special events. Music theater and drama classics as well as world premieres and recent plays are presented. Opera is sung partly in the original language, partly in German. Hajo Fouquet and his team set accents in music theatre, drama and generally in children's and youth theatre.
