Clark Snavely
(He/Him) Clark Snavely has appeared as soloist with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Madison Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Oistrakh Symphony, SEEN Worldwide Orchestra, and Festival City Symphony.  He has made solo orchestral appearances in an array of venues including the Royal Concertgebouw, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Parkzaal Musis Sacrum. He has had the honor of playing for an estimated audience of twenty thousand at the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s 40th anniversary Concerts on the Square celebration.

Biography

Clark Snavely

Clark Snavely, 18, has performed as soloist with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Madison Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Oistrakh Symphony, SEEN Worldwide Orchestra, and Festival City Symphony. He has made solo orchestral appearances in an array of venues including the Royal Concertgebouw, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Parkzaal Musis Sacrum, Bradley Symphony Center, and the Overture Center for the Arts. Recently, he had the honor of playing for an estimated audience of twenty thousand at the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s 40th anniversary Concerts on the Square celebration. He has also performed for 98.7 WFMT's Introductions, Classical IPR, Milwaukee Public Television, and Wisconsin Public Radio and Television.

As chamber musician, Clark won second prize in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, the Gold Medal and Haydn Prize at the Saint Paul String Quartet Competition, and first place and the grand prize in the A.N. and Pearl G. Barnett Chamber Music Competition. Clark has spent summers at the Bowdoin International Music Festival, Madeline Island Chamber Music Program, and the Interlochen Advanced String Quartet program.  This summer he will be a Chamber Music Seminar Fellow at the Heifetz Institute.

A passionate orchestral musician, Clark currently serves as a concertmaster at the Academy with the Music Institute of Chicago. He enjoyed six seasons with the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) program where he served as Concertmaster of MYSO’s most advanced orchestras. In 2021 Clark was Concertmaster of Interlochen’s World Youth Symphony Orchestra under JoAnn Falletta and an Orchestral Scholar Recipient. 

Clark will recently won second prize in the International Young Artist Competition and third prize in the senior division of the Ronald Sachs International Competition. Prior competition awards include the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Madison Symphony Bolz Young Artist, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Concord Chamber Orchestra, Wisconsin Philharmonic, Thursday Musical, Colibri International Instrumental Competition, Civic Music Association, Walgreens National, and the DePaul Concerto Festival.

Clark is a Merit Scholar Fellow at the Music Institute of Chicago’s Academy, a training center for advanced pre-college students, where he studies with Almita Vamos and Davis King.
