Biography

Katarina Izdepski

A hard-working leader with strong interpersonal skills who excels at developing meaningful working relationships, Katarina demonstrates her passion for classical music and arts administration in numerous ways to help create meaningful and memorable experiences for all music audiences. After spending the majority of her life growing up overseas, Katarina found her love for vocal and classical music through her extracurricular studies as she engaged with the wide variety of cultures she experienced. During her time in Bangkok, Thailand, Katarina was elected to perform in the 2013 & 2014 AMIS Honor Choir both in Beijing China and Hong Kong. In 2016, she auditioned at The Governor's School for the Arts in Norfolk, Virginia, for the Vocal Music Department under the direction of Alan Fischer, hoping to hone her skills into a more operatic style. During her time at GSA, she performed in various operas and other productions such as Humperdinek's Hansel and Gretel, Handel's Messiah, Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Puccini's Suor Angelica as La Conversa II, and Mahler's Symphony No. 2 'Auferstehung.' Katarina graduated from GSA's Vocal Music Department in 2018 and continued her music education at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of the Arts' Music Department. While there, she performed at various venues and events such as accompanying the Richmond Symphony and Richmond Symphony Chorus' rendition of Orff's Carmina Burana with the VCU Commonwealth Singers, and she performed Verdi's Requiem with the VCU Commonwealth Singers in the Defiant Requiem Foundation's 20th Anniversary performance of "Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezin." Katarina finished her undergraduate studies in the Spring of 2022. Shortly after, she attended the Wintergreen Music Festival's Summer 2022 LEAD Cooperative Arts Administration Fellowship Program as the Executive Management and Patron Services Fellow under the artistic direction of Conductor and Artistic Director Erin Freeman and Executive Director Julianne Akins Smith. Since then, Katarina has relocated and is based in the New York City area.
