(She/Her) Lily Roof is a multi-wind performer studying at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is an active freelance musician in the Southeast Michigan area, with experience working in musical theatre, orchestra, folk, jazz, and rock. She has recently performed with the University of Michigan Musical Theatre program, MUSKET, and the Mostly Modern Festival. Lily also has a substantial amount session work experience, including a documentary soundtrack for PBS. She also works in live sound engineering and arts administration.

Biography

Lily Roof

Lily Roof is a second year in the BM - multiple winds program at the University of Michigan, studying oboe, saxophone, and clarinet. She has experience in classical music, musical theatre, folk, jazz, and rock. Most recently Lily has performed with the University of Michigan Musical Theatre department, MUSKET, and Mostly Modern Festival. Lily is a regular freelance musican in the Southeast Michigan area, and also has a substantial record as a session musician, including on a PBS special.

Lily plays oboe, saxophone, and clarinet, and is also well practiced in running live sound and arts administation. She has considerable experience in live sound engineering, including mainstage sound at notable folk festival Holler Fest. Lily is passionate about musical outreach and reducing the elitism and intimidation in the classical and jazz music worlds. She has substantial experience working in arts administation, working with the University Musical Society, Ann Arbor Summer Festival, and Swing Ann Arbor.
