Lily Roof is a second year in the BM - multiple winds program at the University of Michigan, studying oboe, saxophone, and clarinet. She has experience in classical music, musical theatre, folk, jazz, and rock. Most recently Lily has performed with the University of Michigan Musical Theatre department, MUSKET, and Mostly Modern Festival. Lily is a regular freelance musican in the Southeast Michigan area, and also has a substantial record as a session musician, including on a PBS special.
Lily plays oboe, saxophone, and clarinet, and is also well practiced in running live sound and arts administation. She has considerable experience in live sound engineering, including mainstage sound at notable folk festival Holler Fest. Lily is passionate about musical outreach and reducing the elitism and intimidation in the classical and jazz music worlds. She has substantial experience working in arts administation, working with the University Musical Society, Ann Arbor Summer Festival, and Swing Ann Arbor.
