Nate Berry is a Bay Area Trombonist that is dedicated to his craft. As a soloist, Nate has set his mark by reaching the finals of multiple solo competitions, including the Shires Solo Competition, and winning the International Trombone Festival Gilberto Gagliardi Solo Competition. Nate is a fellow at Orchestra NEXT, and has played with Orchestra Indiana, the Columbus Philharmonic, Ballet Indiana, and the Evansville Philharmonic. Nate can be heard as a feature on the 2023 Film "The Senior" and on SFOpera and Mason Bates' premiere show "Mercury Soul". Nate's alma mater is Indiana University, where he studied with Peter Ellefson. During his time at Indiana, Nate had the privilege to sit principal in every one of Indiana University's premiere ensembles, including the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ceremonial Brass Quintet, the New Music Ensemble, Latin Jazz Ensemble, and the Conductor's Orchestra. He currently studies under Timothy Higgins, Principal Trombone of the San Francisco Symphony.
