Biography

Tal Heller

At Jacobs, Ms. Heller sang Arsamene in Handel's Xerses with Kevin Murphy, Meg in Mark Adamo’s Little Women with Dr. Charles Prestinari, Principal flower maiden in the Bi-Centennial production of Wagner’s Parsifal Maestro Arthur Fagen, La Badessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica under the baton of Maestro Michael Christie, and performed De Falla’s Tres Picos with the school orchestra under the baton of Maestro David Neely. She received her Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music at Mannes College of Music in New York City. With Mannes Opera, she performed Marcellina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and covered Baba the Turk in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress under the baton of Joseph Colaneri. She was the alto soloist in a performance of Brahms’ Vier Quartette, a soloist with the Oltman/Newman Guitar Duo, and the featured singer in Massenet’s Elegie with the Mannes Sounds Festival. Ms. Heller also sang Elgar’s Sea Pictures as part of a sign language and classical music festival, Sign & Sing. She has participated in masterclasses with Helmut Deutsch, Ken Noda, Will Crutchfield, Margo Garrett, and Michel Sénéchal. Ms. Heller has sung in concerts around the world, including France, Italy, and her father’s native country Israel. Tal was a fellow at Ravinia’s Steans Music Institute in 2018. Ms. Heller was born and raised in Sharon, Massachusetts.
