Biography

Terrence Perrier

A French Horn player from Oakland California, Terrence Perrier has performed with the Redlands Symphony, American Youth Symphony, and Debut Chamber Orchestra, of which he was second horn. While with the Debut Chamber Orchestra, Terrence played a variety of concerts including Yeethoven Part 2 (A juxtaposition of the music of Kanye West and Beethoven), The Music of Flying Lotus (A concert opposing the music of Flying Lotus with that of Benjamin Britten and Igor Stravinsky), and an exclusive concert “Smalls Change,” which promoted Dereck Smalls of the band Spinal Tap’s Lukewarm Water Live tour. He has also performed with the University of Redlands Studio Big Band, and been a participant of the Fresno Opera and Orchestra Summer Academy (FOOSA), the UC Berkeley Summer Symphony, and the Humboldt Chamber Music Workshop. During his undergraduate studies, Terrence was fortunate enough to study abroad in Vienna Austria, where he studied with retired third horn of the Vienna Philharmonic, Franz Söllner. Along with horn, Perrier is a student of the Alexander Technique and Body Mapping studying the former with Stasia Siena and Michael Parkinson, and the latter with Dr. Nicholle Andrews and David Nesmith. Moreover, Terrence is a member of the Phi Mu Alpha National Music Fraternity, Phi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society, and outside of music Terrence enjoys staying physically active, particularly through running and rock climbing, and being outrageously Swiss by making crepes for his friends. Terrence Perrier graduated from University of Redlands, class of 2020 where he studied with Adam Wolf. His horn teachers also include Laura Brenes and Alicia Telford. Terrence will be continuing his education at Indiana University, where he’ll be pursuing a Masters of Music in Horn Performance, class of 2023.
