Evelyn Theinert is a German-American Harpist from Munich, Germany. Her passion for the harp began at the early age of three, but only after learning piano could she start with harp lessons at age 8.
At the age of 10, Evelyn started playing with adult orchestras in Bavaria, including the Waldkraiburg Community Orchestra and the Bavarian Music Association (Musikbund Ober- und Niederbayern; MON), and after moving to Indiana in the U.S. in 2o15, she played as the harpist for ensembles such as the Elkhart Municipal Band and the South Bend Youth Symphony while also providing services for weddings, dinners, events, church services, and concerts.
She also continued to keep up her piano studies and participated in the annual local Stickley Piano Competition, winning Honorable Mention Prizes in Levels III, IV, and V.
At present, she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Harp Performance on a music scholarship at the IU Jacobs School of Music, while minoring in Music Composition and pursuing a Music Entrepreneurship Certificate.
Besides playing the harp, Evelyn also enjoys ballroom dancing, playing golf, learning new languages, cooking and baking, singing, and serving at her church.
Her goal as a harpist is to explore the meaning of music through the depth of different cultures, widening the repertoire and exposure of the harp and revealing the magical impact of music to a global audience.
